8-12 inches of snow tonight?!!

I have been having spring fever in the biggest way lately, especially since alot of the snow that has been on the ground for the last 2 months has melted. But, the forcast shows that we are supposed to have 8-12 inches of snow tonight and then tomorrow it will be a wintry mix of rain and sleet and ice. Oh well, maybe spring will get here sometime soon.

Teresa Steuber moved a couple of weeks ago. I will miss her and hanging out with her during the week. We had a lot in common with each other as well we both love to scrapbook. They transferred to a base in NY about 5 hours away.

Still don't have a calling yet at church. I don't understand why I haven't been called yet and am trying not to take it personally. I do know that I don't feel very spiritual these days and am having a hard time being enthusiastic about this ward. I think when we first got here I was excited about it because it was new, but now that we have been here for 9 months and I see how this ward is, it's nothing to be excited about. I don't want to be a complainer, but we have been spoiled being in Keflavik Branch and the Dutch Fork Ward. I believe this is probably a test for me to see how much I grow during this time or how stale I get. I have to admit that I'm getting stale.

My baby girl is 1 year old today!

Since I haven't written in awhile I thought it would be fitting today to take some time and reflect a little bit about sweet Lily. It's hard to believe that she is having her first birthday today. I look back on the year and can truly say that it has been such a wonderful experience being her mother. She is so sweet and beautiful and has a smile for me every morning, actually everytime she wakes up. She makes our family complete and we all just adore her.

Lily loves food! That is no surprise since the rest of us do too. She loves peas, oranges, cheerios, wheat chex, pretzels, pickles, beans, cheese just to name a few. She is very open to trying new things and doesn't turn down much.

Lily loves to feed Minnie! When she is through with eating she starts sending all of it over the side of her highchair for Minnie. And of course Minnie is her biggest fan. She is always lurking around her highchair. She also likes to use Minnie's back for a table because she is just the right height!

Lily loves to get into everything! She is a walking demolition derby and can take down a room in no time at all. She is especially fond of the dishwasher and loves to play with the silverware. She also likes to put things in the toilet- books, clothes, silverware...

Lily is a snugglebear! She loves to cuddle and sleeps best right in the middle of Mommy and Daddy. She is such an angel when she sleeps.

Lily has a temper! I am seeing it more and more now as she is busy walking around and exploring things and she hates to be held back in anyway. She threw her first tantrum when we were in Target and I let her get out of the cart when I tried some clothes on. Then she was off and running and it was impossible to get her back in.

Lily hates the carseat! Pretty much anytime she has to get in the carseat she starts screaming and bucking around like a horse. It doesn't take long for her to settle down again but it is not always fun to calm her down.

Lily loves Harry! She always says Ki when she sees him and her eyes light up.

Life with you Lily is just awesome!

Me time

Lily is napping and Noah is playing in his room with his friend Edward. I have a few minutes to scrapbook, get on-line etc... It's nice as this doesn't happen that often when I have what I consider "free" time. And, I have decided to do what I want for this little block of time and not do housework. That can wait.

I have been trying to be healthier the last few days; eating more fruits, vegetables, more whole grains, and no ice cream at night anymore. I will have to make that a special occasion thing instead of a nightly ritual- that alone should shave a good 500 calories off of my daily intake. And, I have been trying to make sure I get some exercise either by walking the dog, or going to the gym to walk, or doing Denise Austin (I'm recording her shows) at least something is better than nothing at all. I hope to drop a few pounds as well as get in shape to walk the half marathon in May. I know I can do it, I want to do it, I need to take better care of myself.
I'm not going to diet or anything, just make a few changes in my life. So, we'll see.

Stroller Striders

I went to the Gym on Base this morning with Lily to attend the Stroller Striders class. There were 4 other moms there and it was fun to walk and talk and just get out of the house. It will be twice a week so I hope to fit it in and be more active. I have started recording my exercise on my calendar that way I can see how much I am actually doing weekly to make sure that I am getting enough. Now if I can just eat the right things...

T bought a car off of ebay yesterday- it is a 2001 Land Rover Discovery- he is so excited and I am excited for him. He has been searching for a car for awhile and I think he is happy with the deal he got. We have to go to CT to pick it up this weekend- he may take the train and just go by himself though since it will be a lot of driving for the kids.

Well, Noah is whining and crying for someone to play with- AGAIN. I have got to find something for him to do that will be fun that he will like to do and not feel he always needs a friend to play with.

Feeling better

We have been battling sickness in the house since NYE when Noah threw up during the night. He had diahrea also, so for the next 3 days it went through everyone in the house and now I think we all are feeling better. Lily has another ear infection, or did not get completely over the other one, so she is on antibiotics once again- Augmentin.

This new year I have to say has been nice for me in that I have resolved to have a cleaner house, thus having better organization and planning. I joined this on line group called FlyLady that helps you get organized and sends you reminders to do things. It is to help you create good habits and so far it is working for me. Let's hope I can keep it up.

Also, I want to complete (walk) a half marathon in Alton, NH. I tried one in Nashville about 18 months ago and only made it through mile 7 before my knee gave out. So, I want to try again, and this time actually train for it. I think that I will be able to do it this time and I then want to move on and complete a marathon (also walk) by the time I'm 40. Good luck- right? I am hoping that by writing this down it will help me to actually do it and then in the process I will become more fit.

Gotta run and take care of some chores!
