Sayonara Sasebo, Japan! Hello Grad School!

We're not going to Japan now, we're staying here in the Atlanta area and Travis is going to go to Graduate School at GA Tech!! We are thrilled at this opportunity for him to further his education and the best part is that the Navy is paying for it. He will also continue to receive his regular pay while going to school. Travis has wanted to go to grad school for quite some time and has been looking for the right time to fit it in. Well, the time is now and he can't be happier for this opportunity to get his Masters in Transportation Engineering. The program is for one year, so we are going to enjoy an extra year living with our family nearby. I still can't believe that it all has fallen into place so fast. It's all very exciting!

Now, the search is on for the perfect location to live. We want somewhere that is convenient for Travis to ride the Marta, or is at least not so far from downtown that he has a really long commute. I'm sure his schooling will keep him busy enough that we will hardly ever see him, so we don't want to tack on a couple more hours a day in traffic. But, I would love to keep Noah in the same school and live close to my Mom and sister, because that has been wonderful. So, we'll really just have to weigh all the options and see what we come up with.

I am going to miss not being able to live in Japan and for our family to experience the culture. Maybe one day we'll be able to visit there. And, I'm not going to give up hope that one day we will be able to do another overseas tour before Travis retires. I'm still dreaming of Italy!

Wow!! That does sound exciting!! Congratulations! Love to catch up. I am in CA right now and will be through the end of the month. Let's try and get together for a walk or something when I return.
