Getting settled in...

So, this is week two and we are learning our way around the area getting familiar with what there is to do around here. Everyone has been so helpful and friendly! We have been invited to dinner and fed by some wonderful new friends and that has made us feel very welcome.

The cabins are not far from the track so we've been going down there to walk or ride bikes. There is also a .75 mile loop that goes around the track that we have been running on.

This is the Exchange and the Commissary. I love that we live so close that we can walk and take the wagon with us.

Katy enjoys a ride with the groceries!

Miss Lily

We have really enjoyed going to the pool since we've been here. In order for kids to swim in the deep end of the pool they have to be able to swim the length of the pool and back and tread water for 2 minutes. Noah was so excited yesterday when he passed his test!

We Finally Made it to West Virginia!!

It was about 3:00 in the afternoon when we finally pulled into the base after several days of traveling. The drive up the mountain left me feeling a little queasy so it felt good to finally get here and get out of the car.

This is the cabin we are staying in for a few weeks until our housing is ready. It's very comfortable and beautifully decorated and it feels a little like we're on vacation.

Since we didn't make it to the grocery store in time we ordered pizza for dinner from Fox's Pizza our first night here.

Noah was still outside playing when we sat down to eat dinner. He met a friend and his brother at the park that he knew when we lived in Maine. What a small world. He was so happy.

I can see Fox's Pizza becoming a regular thing for us because the food is really good.

Packing up, moving out,and saying goodbye....

The last few weeks we spent going through everything to get ready for the move. The packers came last Tuesday to pack us up and on Wednesday they loaded the truck and headed out. I was standing across the street talking with our neighbor Miss Karen as they drove away and I had a lump in my throat. I was telling her that even though we move every couple of years, it's still not easy to move and say good bye to the things you love and the people you care about. After the house was empty we made the rounds visiting family and friends before making our way up to WV.

The first day a crew of 4 arrived to pack everything and the next day a crew of 6 loaded the truck. They were efficient and made it seem so easy.

I told Noah it was all right to throw a ball in the house if he wanted to now.

The kids seemed to have a great time chasing this little bouncy ball around.

And, look at all this space to ride bikes... good times!

I will miss going into Planet Smoothie for my favorite Lunar Lemonade and seeing Josiah. He is awesome!

Mei and Song were the greatest landlord's anyone could ask for. They own a Chinese restaurant called Songs Garden and we got take out from about once a week. The food is just fabulous and I'm sure we won't find anything comparable in WV.

I will miss my Wednesday night Body Combat class at the gym! Shaunna is an awesome instructor and made the class a lot of fun. All of the instructors at the BodyPlex are great and the ladies in the Kidsplex were so good to my kids.

We headed down to Tifton to see Travis's family. Luckily we were able to visit with Sonya for a little bit before she left for work. She is such a sweetheart!

Grandma Crowell didn't want me to take her picture because she said she didn't look presentable. But, I just had to get this one of Travis hugging her and I think it is priceless.

It is always great to visit with Aunt Cindy. Thanks for making us dinner!

Nana and Katy have such a special bond and will not know what to do without each other. So, we will have to plan a visit as soon as possible.

I am so grateful for the time we had to live in Atlanta for 2 years. It has been wonderful living so close to my sweet Mother and being able to spend more time with her. She is always there for me when I need her and I will miss her dearly.

The kids love going to Nana's house because she spoils them. It is always a nice diversion for them to stop over and see her even if it's just for a few minutes.

Noah hugging his Aunt Carol good-bye. He loved spending time at her house with his cousins Tanner and Tate and is already asking if he can spend a few weeks next summer at her house. We decided not to say good bye... just see you later.

I could go on and on about the many wonderful people I got to know and the things I enjoyed doing in Woodstock, but the list would never end. I know we will be back to visit because Woodstock is like home to us.

Wild Adventures

Grandpa Tom works at Wild Adventures in Valdosta and was able to get us free passes to the park. We were excited to take the kids and spend a fun day at the park with him and Molly.

Katy enjoys a ride on Grandpa Tom's shoulders.

Tom knows everyone at Wild Adventures and had fun introducing us to all of his co-workers.

The park wasn't crowded and we were able to go on any rides we wanted to with minimal waiting.

Noah and Grandpa riding on the Dizzy Dragon....

...Molly and the girls go around too.

I love their happy faces.

I went with Tom, Travis, and Noah to ride a couple of the bigger rides while Molly took the girls to play. Having more adults than kids makes a day at the park more manageable and allowed me some time to ride a few rides and have my hands free for a few minutes here and there.

Grandma Molly rides on the merry go round with the girls.

These water spouts kept Lily and Katy entertained for a long time. It was hard to convince them the water park would be better than this and they finally agreed to move on.

I think we picked the hottest day of the year to visit Wild Adventures. By mid- day it was unbearable and we were ready to go to the water park and cool off.

Splash Island was awesome and the kids had so much fun!

At the end of the day the kids were tired and cranky. Since it was getting close to dinnertime we planned to meet for dinner before we got on the road again.

We met at Ruby Tuesday's and had a nice time visiting with Tom and Molly and Belinda and David.

Grandma Molly and Lily pass the time until our food arrived.

I think Katy's face says it all about the kind of day we had with Grandpa Tom and Grandma Molly at Wild Adventures. We had a great time!
